I love Christmas!

But the food is freaking me out!!!

I hate that my way of coping with stress is by eating the stuff my co-workers are constantly bringing in...

I attacked bowls of rice balls(tangyuan, one of my weakness) like a maniac when I reached home from a dinner party just now and I'm down with tummy runs now.

qwwwwwahhhhhhh >:O

Golden Mile Thai Steamboat @ New Udon Thai Food

Bff, MLM, MLM's bf and me finally went for our long-awaited Thai Steamboat dinner at Golden Mile.

Different kinds of vegetables, straw mushrooms (fave!), vermicelli, eggs, lard.

Super fresh pork & chicken meat, pork liver, squid, prawns, crabmeat, fishballs and meatballs.

Their potent chilli sauce kept me wanting more (we requested for them to remove the pungent raw garlic though)… add in the chilli padi which makes the paste super spicy and shiok to the max!

Interestingly, we were provided with slabs of lard to oil the pan in the middle instead of the usual oil or butter.

Surrounding the charcoal BBQ is chicken broth for steamboat and the "juice" from the lard and bbq meat drips into the chicken broth making the soup super fatty yet tasty!

BFF reckons that the Thai steamboat she tried in Bangkok tasted better but I had no complaints as this was my first time trying Thai-style steamboat.

It was a yummy eye-opener for me and I will return again soon!

Last prawn standing!

Total bill for 4 of us (1 round of ingredients) and 3 cups of Thai Iced Tea(from the opposite shop) added up to about $45.

Food: **** (thumbs up for the freshness of the ingredients)
Ambience: ***/5* (I like it that the place gives me the feeling of eating at roadside stalls in Thailand given the amount of Thais patronizing the place. Tables were set side by side and the cozy eating place was full by 6pm. A rowdy yet happy eating experience for me!)
Service: **** (Prompt and friendly (smiley, i like! :D) servers.)
Affordabilty: *** (Slightly over $10 per person for fresh seafood and other ingredients is pretty affordable though you might have to order a second round as the ingredients’ portion given might not be enough for big-eaters.)
Recommended: For steamboat lovers who have yet to try the unique Thai-style steamboat in Singapore.

Address: Golden Mile Complex, 5001 Beach Road, #01-55 (you cannot miss it if you walk in from the entrance where the four faced Buddha statue is.)

Opening Hours: Mon.-Sun. 11:00-21:00

Joy to the World!

I’ll be kept busy with last minute Christmas and birthday presents shopping this week! It's the time of year where I'll be completely broke yet extremely happy soaking in the infectious joy of the merry season.

Hungry Monster

My plan was to fast all week to make up for the amount of eating that is expected next week - Christmas, holiday, birthday and whatnot - except that I am gorging more than ever.

It's like the hungry monster is unleashed from within and starts attacking me with a vengeance the past couple of days. The amount of food consumed is insane. I'm 24/7 HUNGRY and if I don't get the food, I get super edgy and ANGRY till the extent that even though my pants are bursting, I continue gorging. My (protruding) tummy thinks it's very amusing (NOT!) when it pretends that it is a freaking bottomless pit. And then when it finally decides that it is satisfied, I beat myself up for it because I have zero self-control and I can't stop eating. I freak out.

And the cycle repeats itself.

Like what's new right?

Time of the month?

It's a curse I tell you.

I Can't Believe It's December... Again!

It has been a while since I last blogged... A little over a year to be exact and everything has changed.

What was once so comforting seems strange and unfamiliar now, even the blogger layout has changed!

I've decided to start over on a clean slate simply due to the narcissistic reason of wanting to leave a trace of the young me when I look back years later. haha! Damn, I didn't realize how much I missed writing... Let's see if I can do away with all that procrastination and keep this up... ;p

I will try to catch up and fill you in with all the random ramblings of my not-so-random life.

and... I'm happy to be back. :)
